Western Railroad Discussion > Progress Shows At Renslow Bridge ProjectDate: 11/25/20 10:41 Progress Shows At Renslow Bridge Project Author: walstib Work to install a pedestrian walkway atop the former Milwaukee Road trestle at Renslow, Washington, progresses westward, with about 70 percent of the concrete deck in place as of yesterday afternoon.
I spent about an hour at the site under cloudy skies yesterday, watching crews place deck and fence sections. The bridge — spanning Interstate 90 between Kittitas and Vantage — will become part of a cross-state hiking and biking trail. Shot number one shows an overview of the bridge, with about 70 percent of the deck completed. After carrying a new deck section across the structure with a fork lift, shot two, crews lower the concrete piece into place. After the deck sections are placed, shot three, crews lift a fence section and put it into place above the freeway. Work installing the deck has progressed rapidly this month. When I was at the bridge on Nov. 9, the walkway was about 10 percent of the way across. Photos of that visit are at this link: https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,5135467,5135467#msg-5135467 Date: 11/25/20 14:52 Re: Progress Shows At Renslow Bridge Project Author: ChrisCampi Backing that fork lift all the back can't be fun.
