BNSF 1908 & Slug BN 65 at Denver, CO, 26 Nov 2020

BNSF 1908 and slug BN 65 were working BNSF's 31st Street Yard, Denver, CO, Thanksgiving morning, 26 November 2020.  Hope the yard guys got an early quit on Thanksgiving Day.

Didn't realize BNSF was still using any former Santa Fe slugs.  BN 65 is the former ATSF 140, created from an N&W (originally Illinois Terminal) SD39 in 1986 to replace an Alco-based slug of the same number.  The snoot was built as ATSF 5136.

What’s the extra cabinet ahead of the engineer on the running board?

Doesn't look like it has enough openings to be an AC unit. That would have to be a VERY efficient condenser with the openings that are shown.
