Western Railroad Discussion > Low Light in CourtlandDate: 01/13/21 22:09 Low Light in Courtland Author: santafe199 A few of the good folks in Courtland, KS were momentarily blocked at the Main St crossing earlier tonight. Ex-Santa Fe SD40-2 1629 points an ex-Santa Fe local between Abilene & Superior (NE), setting its entire train out as transfer tonnage to the KYLE, which is operating this ex-Rock Island Rocky Mountain Rocket main line since the early 1980s. Since there are no through cars for Superior the power will be tied down over near where the ex-Santa Fe depot once stood, and the crew with take a crew van ride back to Abilene.
It might be ex-“this, that & the other” round here. But it still says Santa Fe… 1. The KYLE RR Main St crossing @ 5:21 PM in Courtland, KS on January 13, 2021. Thanks for looking!
