It started out today with cold frozen fog in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub with a high-low of 37-23. It was nippy this morning, I felt like a popcicle this morning, lol. Traffic is at 23 trains since midnight. There was a work window for MoW from 6am till the WB 1034am "Z". After that the parade was fairly steady until 330pm with another luff. Here are some of the trains from today and the start of the week.

1/17/2021

1. WB 341pm coal train with BNSF 8559-9246-8290 on the point with DPU.
2. WB 407pm grain train with BNSF 7493 and Warbonnet 4718 on the pull with DPU's.
3. Another shot at Warbonnet 4718 on same train.

4. BNSF 483110 Frisco Heritage Hopper rolling in same train.

5. Grab shot of EB 1120am manifest train with BNSF Orange-Orange and CN 2682-2649-2857 on the point with no DPU. Been trying to catch these units in daylight but didn't happen until today. Thanks Andy and Ted!
6. MoW at wiork in the backyard at 1138am, then it was off to Spokane.

7. WB 1034am "Z" train with BNSF 8110-6752-6787-4616 on the pull with no DPU and a friendly toot-toot from the hogger.
8. Lots of TOFC rolling in this "Z".
9. The End of same "Z" fading away.

10. WB 1043am grain train with BNSF 6217-7586 on the point with DPU's.
11. WB 1054am coal train with BNSF 5615-8116 on the pull with DPU's.
12. DPU's BNSF 7324-6061 on same train fading away.

14. WB 1122am manifest train with BNSF 4679-6895-5379 on the pull with no DPU.
15. WB 1155am grain train with BNSF 3962-5059 on the point with DPU.

16. WB 1206pm grain train with BNSF 6562-3814 on the pull with DPU.
17. DPU BNSF 6719 on same train fading away.

With a heads up, I was waiting for CP 9648, saw on the Monitor that the train was stopping at CP W. Tokio, so decided to ride out for a look see.

18. WB 152pm oil train with BNSF 4002 and CP 9648 on the point with DPU's at CP W. Tokio but moving out slowly.

19. Same oil train rolling slowly toward Bauman Rd., then coming to a stop with MoW supervisors checking out track.
20. Supervisors vehicals.
21. Finally getting the come ahead to move out slowly 201pm.

I'm only guessing but I bet it was a flagging test on the crews.

Not nessecairly..  They could be doing radar on how fast the trains are going..   Trainmasters have to spend XX amount of time in the field observing crews..

Nice series. I see BNSF is not different from VLI in Brazil , where we have more supervisors than people that really put the hands on the heavy duty.
