Derailment at Cameron, TX
Author: Valleyman

just hearing of a derailment at Cameron, Tx. south of Temple. The video I saw, was the power is just clear of the massive fire behind it. Hopefully the crew is safe. Guess from snow and ice, to 70 plus degrees might cause a problem with the rail.

This appears to be a major incident. Video is here: https://twitter.com/ryan_kyburz/status/1364211614677884931  It shows a huge fireball rising from the wreck.

Yes, BBC picked up on this, actaully if you really want news the BBC is the place to go.
But, not to make lite of a serious incident here is a snipet from BBC translation.

"A goods train transporting petrol has burst into flames after colliding with a lorry at a level crossing in the US state of Texas, police say.

They are using British terminology for railroads...

Was this a grade crossing collision or just a derailment?   Anybody hurt or killed?  Would appreciate a reliable answer.

Thanks.

Well since The Daily Mail is a British newspaper I think they're allowed.

I may have missed this, but was it an oil train or was it an oil tanker that ran into the train? It wasn't clear, at least to me.

That's a pretty big fireball. I can only imagine the heat from that

Th BBC article says the train hit the truck. Another source uts it the other way around. You'd think they'd get that bit of information correct.

Reports I have read said that it was a mixed consists train, but that the semi hit a part of the train where there were gasoline filled tank cars. It is amazing that there were no injuries.
