Flare Friday, ARZC . . .
Author: 3rdswitch

.   .   .   back in APR '03, when they were less than a year old, Arizona and California's pair of former 45's, were leading eastbound train 807 near the ghost town of Archer, CA, in the heart of the Mojave Desert.

You will note the excellent condition of the track under ParkSierra. RA let it deteriorate to become 10 and 25 mph fort the entire distance
between Parker and Cadiz. G&W is underway to bring the track back up to Class 3 and 49 mph running.

AMEN! Translated:  Back when it was a real railroad...not under deferred maintenance to make their books look good for their purchase by Brookfield.  I would have  loved to have been a fly in Brookfield's office wall listening in when they realized the actual condition of the physical plant (track, equipment, etc).

They didn't call RA "Fail America" for nothing.

I agree, I really liked that scheme on the Cal Northern. I was a fan of the G&W Orange until it sprouted up everywhere. To much of a good thing is never that great.

After what they did to SJVR, I call it Trail America.
