I just saw a dramatic video of the derailment in progress taken by someone driving on U.S. 30.   Looked to be an intermodal train.   

Obviously speculation, but it looked like a switch was picked at the Gibbon Control Point (or a switch set in motion whatever other mechanical failure might have been going on).   Cars were derailing just a few platforms behind the power.

The first platform of what I assume was a 3 pack was visibly off the rail so good chance the power is also off. Everything behind the first three platforms got tired and laid over to take a nap (at speed with lots of dust).

Just saw the video, that was pretty wild!!! Wish the video ran a little longer and showed the power up close.
