Western Railroad Discussion > Elusive PreyDate: 04/06/21 19:12 Elusive Prey Author: sugarcreek56 UP 1943 arrived in St. Louis in the early morning of 21-Apr-06 on the point of MTPAS. It would spend the day in the St. Louis metropolitan area, mostly in and around the confines of the massive Alton & Southern Gateway Yard in East St. Louis which has few locations visible to the public.
1. UP 1943 and train MTPAS (Topeka, KS, Alton & Southern) are parked on the MacArthur Bridge; they would wait about two hours before getting an opening to bring the train into the Gateway Yard. 2. Having dropped its cars, UP 1943 passes train MASAR (Alton & Southern, Arlington, TX) while SD-40s work the hump. 3. UP 1943 becomes the lead unit for train MASAR. The train is facing north, and will be wyed to head south to Texas. Date: 04/06/21 19:18 Re: Elusive Prey Author: texchief1 Nice shots!
