CFR part 49, part 243. Safety training and qualification of Safety Related railroad employees is due May1, 2021 for railroads that employ less than 400,000 man hours yearly. This applies to Class 3 short lines. Class 1,s have already implemented. Training programs must be submitted to the FRA.

If they do like the rest of the Class One railroads, it will be "watch this video", then presto, you're qualified!

Absolutely.  Any good operation had 243 in place years ago.
