San Luis Valley in Colorado

Heading down this way early tomorrow. What, if anything can be found down Alamosa way?  Does the San Luis Central still ahve a unit down here? Then over La Veta Pass to Walsenburg Co and back north.  Might stick around Walsemburg area and try to catch a NB BNSF coming thru.  Thanks for any help. Ben

The enginehouse of the San Luis Central is just North of Sugar Jct (East of Mionte Vista) and the unit should be
out if they're running. Might also be on the line toward Center. You might stop in the office and ask, they do
appreciate courtesy.

Was down that way in May 2019 and didn't see anything on the SLC. But will stop by and check. Thanks Rich. Ben

Drive down the road that parallels the interchange and right at the crossing is a road into their
engine facility.

In all the years I was there, the SLC never ran on weekends, and the SLRG only ran weekends if they were buried in traffic.  Which they aren't any more.
