Western Railroad Discussion > KCS Business train chase last weekDate: 05/14/21 19:56 KCS Business train chase last week Author: Asheville_G I've long wanted to shoot the KCS Belle business train, but the distance from home (12+ hours) and getting any type of advance notice made it difficult. I'd heard word of a trip from Laredo to KC planned for May 3, 4, 5 and 6th and figured it was now or never. I took a couple of vacation days and picked up fellow TO memeber lapklub and we made the 12+ hour drive to Texarkana on Tuesday May 4th so we could be in position to give chase. Here are a few shots from the run.
Special assist to another TO member (KB5WK, David Hawkins) for his assistance prior to and during the trip. His knowledge was very helpful. I was fortunate to ride the KCS Southern Belle KC to Texarkana shortly before they exited the passenger business. Famous diner was gone, replaced by an ex-NYC observation which served light meals. Coaches were new, Pullman Standard, I see, to recall. Same great paint scheme outside. Glad I had the chance! Had this business train been in Mexico? Edited 1 time(s).
