I assume these are for security but dont know. Just what is the blue light and speakers for?

It is hard to say excactly what you are seeing without pictures, a better description or someone who knows the territory. Intended for use by the dispatcher to contack MOW folks who might be working there. Jeff

There's a on/off switch at each location, usually on the signal house/box. I don't know how early they come on when the system is active. I've only seen them working from the cab while passing through control points on trains. Many in my area seem to have been deactivated. |
