Burlington Junction 701 Alco C-415

Burlington Junction Rly 701, Alco C-415, was busy moving cars at Burlington, Iowa, 20 May 2021. The mechanical boys have done an excellent job.

To think thaty a C 415 is still in operation in 2021 just amazes me. Loved the video, but loved it for the audio specifically! Thanks for posting photos and footage.

Amazing to see an Alco C415 in operating condition and helping to earn revenue in 2021. You're right, she looks well cared for by the mechanical folks at Burlington Junction. Thanks for sharing the images and the video!

Looks and sounds great! Although the C-415 was basically a failed design, they are still cool. If Bowser ever makes their model, I could be up for a BN or SP&S.

Wow, an Alco in 2021, made it through the pandemic and everything. Just awestruck, great job.
Here it is working for a previous owner in Longview Washington, looks pretty clean back then as well.
The second unit is an ex-SP unit, I'm guessing it didn't work out so good for that one, actually Columbia and Cowlitz RR is no longer with us either.

IIRC, 702 is on the BJCT as well. IIRC, there are 3-4-5 C415's in that area.

Thanks for sharing this fantastic video, photos and good news. This C415 was built as ex-Weyerhauser 701, I believe. What is the condition of the other C415 (ex-SP) that Burlington Junction has?

BJRY #21 (ex SP 2409) is in Quincy, IL currently with prime mover issues. It is also stranded near 30th street since the spur is now out of service

The #21 is stranded as the tracks have been removed at the Locust St. crossing. Not only does it have prime mover problems, it can’t be moved by rail as it has too thin of flanges( actually it is missing two traction motors). The other C415 down on the riverfront (702) is used about once a week, usually on Friday or Saturday when the workload is lighter.
