I know there are a few cities in which street running still occurs (freight and passenger) and no matter how modern the locomotives may be nor the size of the town, it gives me the feeling of traditional, small-town railroading.

Yeah sadly there isn't really anywhere in Orange County to watch and significant amount of switching, but we do have this one section of street running that is pretty cool when you catch it.  Otherwise, OC is mostly watching BNSF freights roll through at speed, plus the frequent Metrolinks and Amtrak Pacific Surfliners.
I miss the days when locomotives were always spotted across from the depot at Fullerton and there were several road switchers working various parts of the county.   Heck even Kimberly-Clark in Fullerton--one of the long-time customers on the ATSF--is gone now.   And there is no longer an LA Times printing plant for the SP Costa Mesa local to deliver newsprint.

That guy on the bicycle in #1 is brave. Riding next to the train, no hands, and yapping on his phone.

Hmmm, a definition of "brave" I hadn't encountered before.

I see several Kaolin tank cars, can someone share where those are headed?

'Looks like he was using the train as his foil from being hit by automobile traffic .... maybe he's smarter than we think!

The tank cars are all headed for Behr Paint in Santa Ana/Costa Mesa.  The rest of the cars are going along for the ride, from businesses in Anaheim.

Edit: should have looked closer to see the lumber loads.  I should have said, "for businesses in Anaheim."  Usually I see the empties go by after they switch Anaheim.

Hello Chris. Hey, thanks for these local pics of street running, from your area. Good stuff!

BTW- I was with you, (on the Sibley, MO Bridge) on that #4, when you hit your Million Miles.
I still have the blue T-shirt you gave me, to commemorate the Event. How many RR miles
do you have now, approximately? Wish you all the Best, Chris.

At least the first car in that train contains titanium dioxide which I believe is headed for Behr in Santa Ana. Centerbeams are probably headed to Ganahl Lumber and the boxcars headed to Weyerhauser in Anaheim.

Thanks to MapBoy and Ryan will have to seek out the Behr plant. I didn't see it following the line on G-maps but
I don't know the area nor route per se.  (did fan that with my Pal Chris back in the day when the power had
Bloody Noses and the Circus still came to town.  (now I feel old lol)
added, took some work. the complex of various Behr locations is pretty impressive. Certainly more than I would h
have thought. There is a paint mfgr up in Fernley NV  much simpler place lol. Sherwin-Williams they get an interesting
assortment of cars too.

Yes, lots of Behr buildings.  Here's two with cars-  https://goo.gl/maps/KNBJiqsH2pC5siia6  and  https://goo.gl/maps/4j2tp6pVv5PwfygH6  This plant no longer gets cars-  https://goo.gl/maps/3kCCSu86Mbpsn5kx6
