Headed westbound for a fresh load of Powder River Basin coal...
Author: jmulhol2

A trusty pair of EMD SD70ACe's, BNSF #8441 and #9370, power a speedy westbound empty coal train in a 1x1 configuration through Percival, IA, on BNSF's Napier Subdivision during "golden hour" of 07/27/2021.

That is some very nice looking track.  I can only wonder what track maintainers from 100 years ago would think if they saw that.

Thanks for sharing your good photo work with us here.

This track was emaculate! Also, thank you very much for your kind words!

This appears to be in an area where the track has been raised in recent years to keep the rails above Missouri River floodwaters.

Indeed, nice photos, thanks for posting.  Maybe it would be wise to note that while this train is "railroad" westbound, it is actually traveling northward toward Pacific Junction, Iowa, where it will take a left turn, head west across the Missouri River to Lincoln, thence Alliance and on to the mines.  Just a minor point.
