Empty ore/rock train on BNSF's Marceline Subdivision (07/27/2021)
Author: jmulhol2

BNSF #8359 (GE ES44C4) and UP #5101 (EMD SD70M w/ a flared radiator section) lead a long 2x0 empty eastbound ore/rock train past ~MP341.5 (and a water tower) on BNSF's Marceline Subdivision in Bucklin, MO, during the stifling hot mid-afternoon hours of 07/27/2021. This particular train symbol (according to the "La Plata, MO, Virtual Railfan Independent Train Log") was: U-EAPSUP (unit train from Eagle Pass, TX [FXE] -- to -- Superior, WI).

Do these ore mts trains get loaded in Superior, WI, then head back south to Eagle Pass, TX, and eventually onward to Mexico via Ferromex? (p.s. - thank you!!)

Ah Bucklin, MO.

I believe this is the top of a hill and where two BNSF lines cross over one another?

I didn't even know iron ore trains ran through here, so Thank You much for documenting this photo!

Now I know lol.

Very close to that spot, yes! Also, I too did not know they ran iron ore trains through here based on watching the La Plata, MO, Virtual Railfan camera, so it was defintely neat to see. Thank you for the kind words as well!
