BNSF Cleburne TX DT Update
Author: jayman

https://cleburnetx.new.swagit.com/videos/129644

Go to 1:09 in the video, the Cleburne city council talks about BNSF is now planning to start construction on the (Rio Vista to Midway section which is north of town) Double Track project in Cleburne in early 2022. Construction is now planned to last 12-18 months, but it could be rescheduled or still subject to be cancelled according to BNSF's statement to the city. Who knows what they may plan next or we may not see the DT project in town at all.

Where exactly is Rio Vista?
Midway I assume is immediately north of Cleburne.
When completed, will BNSF be DT from Cleburne to Alliance Yard north of Fort Worth?
Thanks

Rio Vista is 10 miles south of Cleburne, and yes it will be DT from Alliance past Cleburne all the way down to Rio Vista when completed. Midway is the Crossovers north of Cleburne.

That is correct, Midway is just north of Cleburne and south of Joshua. A passing track is located at Rio Vista. North Rio Vista is about 5.5 miles south of Cleburne. There are passing tracks at both Joshua and Midway, so the two main track project in this area will consist of connecting the dots, so to speak.

North of Joshua it is a single track through Crowley to CP 3436 just north of Birds, which is itself a couple miles south of Tower 55. At Tower 55 there is a dedicated BNSF main and a joint BNSF-UP main through the interlocking, which becomes two BNSF main tracks roughly even with the Amtrak depot. The two main tracks continue to Bredenberg, which is on the south bank of the Trinity River. From here it is a single main through Tower 60 on the north bank of the Trinity River to Saginaw. At Saginaw there is a small yard, a yard lead/tail track on the west side of the main (the West Pass) and a siding on the east side (the East Pass), all of which is located just south of the former Tower 29 (aka Saginaw Interlocking) and running parallel to and west of the UP Duncan Sub main (the former OKT, nee Rock Island). The Duncan Sub and the BNSF Wichita Falls Sub (former BN, nee FW&D) both cross the BNSF Fort Worth Sub at grade in Saginaw Interlocking. Saginaw Interlocking is being reconstructed as part of this project to allow a new crossing of the Duncan Sub.

Just to the north of the diamonds roadbed and signals are in place to connect a second main track to the BN Transfer switch and Main 2 at the south end of Lake Wanda, currently the southern limit of two main tracks. From there it is two main tracks to Lambert where the old main tied into the Alliance Pass, which connected the Intermodal Facility and merchandise yard to the original main. Alliance Pass is now Main 2 since the original main was severed back in 2015 as part of the Alliance Airport runway extension. The next stretch of two main tracks is in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

So to recap, look for construction between south Lake Wanda/CP 3556 (MP 355.7) and Bredenberg (MP 348.0) and between CP 3436 (MP 343.5) and North Rio Vista (MP 311.9) including reconfiguration of Saginaw Interlocking at MP 353.9.
