Based on the angle of that roof at the front of the RV, he should have backed it into the bridge.

He'll sue for the bridge being too low.

She was 93, so likely he was about the same age.  I hate to say it, but a driving test for the older drivers needs to be enacted.  My father in law gave his up in the mid 70s because he knew he could/should no longer drive.  Our bodies just won't hold up forever, and the loss of the skills to drive can fade so subtly, that we don't realize we are putting others and ourselves in danger.  If they don't ticket him, then I am ashamed of that law enforcement group.

All joking aside it looks like it was almost a double fatality.
I wonder if a GPS navigation app gave them directions with the assumption they were in an automobile.

Amazing how poorly those rigs are constructed to protect the occupants from lateral forces.  'Might as well be wheeling a four-cornered shed down the road.

As a person who is exactly in his mid-70s, I agree. I try to monitor my own driving skills and try to follow all the good driving practices that we all know but sometimes don't follow. I am now living in a senior living center and have seen a few people who should not be on the road. Fortunately, this is a very rural area, so the risks are somewhat smaller than living in an urban environment. When I lived in the Phoenix area, we would see an increase in erratic driving when the "snowbirds" arrived. Most were fine, but there were some who definitely should not have been on the road.

Agreed, but I doubt the designers expect a driver to play limbo with an imovable steel bridge beam.

They are very lucky to not have decapitated themselves.
