Date: 10/20/21 19:44 Re: Amtrak flat cars Author: 3rdTMRS This car looks similar to ones I've seen used at Northeast Corridor stations as "bridges" to get passengers to/from trains having to stop on a track not adjacent to the station platform. They're used when the track closest to the platform is out of service.

Interesting. Years ago when I rode the Acela I noticed some stations had plywood platforms extending over the closest track to reach the next one. They looked like a bunch of peninsulas sticking out from the main platform. I’m guessing that was for a longer term project where these cars would be for a short term issue.
