Yesterday's IOANP at Hercules CA with two exSP AC4400s

Yesterday the IOANP departed Oakland on the UP.  Here is the train at Hercules CA at 10:10 am.  This is probably the last time that I will see two patched exSP ACs on the same train.  - Eric Blasko

I believe UP 6222 in the mid train dpu is also exSP.  It has been recently rebuilt, you can tell by the extra couple of inches on the top of the radiator section.  Also it now has 3 dynamic brake grids whereas the SP units were delivered with only two (as on the patched units)  - E.B.

Perfect light there. The 6222 is ex-SP 175 and is just weeks out of a rebuild at Wabtec. I also see new signals have appeared there at RV021. Any idea how long those have been there? Have any other new signals popped up recently in the vicinity?

Game was rigged. There was a tip on the Facebook Calrailfans group. I wouldn’t have known to go trackside there otherwise. Also thanks to SN711 for pointing it out! - Eric B

Good question about the signals. I don’t know how long the new ones have been there.
