Concluding nine days of twists and turns in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas to seek out and document the Kansas City Southern before it fades away into merger history. Why not end our last day with the inevitable as we followed the line north from Pittsburg, KS on our way to the Kansas City airport. Thanks to everyone here on TO who followed along for the last month, apologies for dragging it out so long. Things may not have gone perfect but I had a great time and hope I speak for Joe and John as well.

That last train…southbound KCS grain loads on the KCS north of Drexel, MO bound for Mexico. Leader CP8152 and UP 8821 with NO KCS power. :-(

Ironic yes as KCS power shows up a lot in upper Midwest on CP river line but guess depends on what train may have started out with in Iowa etc.
