Western Railroad Discussion > Silverwood AlmostDate: 01/09/22 08:50 Silverwood Almost Author: MacBeau Timing is everything, and fourteen years ago last month that fact was made painfully clear as a westbound rolled by on Main Three just before a northbound passed above on the ex-SP Palmdale Cutoff. One of those situations that has been known to produce odd combinations of profane invectives.

JB Date: 01/09/22 14:09 Re: Silverwood Almost Author: trainorderskja What's up with the cantilever signal bridge - the one that contains no signals??
Date: 01/09/22 14:53 Re: Silverwood Almost Author: needles_sub More than likely, since it was fourteen years ago, the signal bridge was newly installed and not in service. Signals were yet to come.

The Silverwood connector seems to be going the wrong direction compared to everything else. Is the connector actually level?
looks like the signal bridge is supporting 3-light signals governing eastward movements on mains 1 and 2? Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/09/22 15:52 by hotrail. Date: 01/09/22 16:16 Re: Silverwood Almost Author: exhaustED hotrail Wrote:

No it's not level, so eastbounds travelling 'up the pass' from the Palmdale cutoff onto BNSF tracks actually descend briefly. Date: 01/09/22 21:23 Re: Silverwood Almost Author: PHall hotrail Wrote:
