BNSF Connection 22nd St to Corwith Question
Author: PRR_4859

Good Morning:

Any idea as to how much the BNSF is using the new connection built as part of the CREATE Project between Corwith and 22nd St? Are there any scheduled road trains that use it? Lastly, I remember reading in the past that the Chillicothe Dispatcher controlled it. Is that still the case?

Thank you in advance.

From what I have seen from my Metra commute on the BNSF Chicago Sub, there have been more intermodals routed via the connection. However, I cannot verify if these have been to/from Corwith as I've only seen the north end. There has been a pretty frequent train of all or nearly all JB Hunt boxes and a regular train of international boxes headed east of the Chicago Sub and heading west on the Chillicothe track at Western Avenue.
As far as I know, the switch of the Chicago Sub's Track 4 at Western Avenue is now the start of the Chillicothe Sub. I am away from my files at the moment.
