Western Railroad Discussion > Up North in AlaskaDate: 01/15/22 19:37 Up North in Alaska Author: train1275 On August 22, 2009 AKRR 4007, one of the "freight hogs" takes a cruise train south to Whittier with Engineer Bob Yost at the throttle, seen here as they roll through Bird Point, AK south of Anchorage and just north of Girdwood, on a misty Saturday afternoon. More than likely Harry Ross was the Conductor.

Miss the ARR and Alaska in general. I haven't been back since 2015. I'd planned to spend a week or two up there in the fall of 2020, but that was before everything went sideways. Date: 01/16/22 05:56 Re: Up North in Alaska Author: texchief1 Very nice shot!
