One person was reportedly killed yesterday in a collision with an Amtrak passenger train on the BNSF line northwest of Bakersfield. The Amtrak was inbound to Bakersfield and the vehicle was struck by the cab car unit. The vehicle burst into flames - no further details needed.  The I.D. of the person and investrigation into the accident are in progress. The passengers were bussed to their destinations according to news reports, and no other injuries were reported. 

TV news clip showed the front of the car cab  was blackened.  Apparently the engineer wasn't hurt.
