Author: swaool BNSF GP39E 2741 leads an "ABBA" consist on train 644, the Sumas Turn, southbound on the Bellingham Sub at Mt. Vernon (WA), November 25, 2013. Built 5/62 as CB&Q 946, she still has the "GP30 look". I can't say that I'm a fan of those obtrusive air conditioning units atop the cab, but a/c is certainly nice to have on these hot summer days.

Very early in TO's "GP30 Thursday" history some clown jumped up on a very high horse, pounded on his chest and screamed to the mountain top: "THAT'S NOT A GP30, THAT'S A GP39-3 xyz, yada yada yada!!!!" Quite an impressive tirade.
