Amtrak #6 at Arnold Loop in moonlit midnight.

After blowing the opertunity to shoot this the first two nights we camped there, I got smart and went to bed after completely setting up the camera so all I had to do was wake up in time and walk down to the tripod and open the shutter.  Still a little over exposed, but it will do for now.

Beautiful, lately a lot of daylight opportunities there lately for the tardy amtraks, anyone get over to lakeside for #5 saturday?

Those lights are ranches and a few homes along the Pilot Valley road between I80 and Montello.

Outstanding image, Kit. Glad to see that your plan worked out to make a fine image. Good to have you back on board posting once again.

I have always wanted to ride around Arnold's Loop on Amtrak on a full moon night, particularly if there would be some snow cover. I have always guessed that the view across the valley to Pilot Peak would be spectacular. Your image has moved that trip up some notches on my bucket list.
