Morning at the RGX/Royal Gorge Train in Canon City Co
Author: ns2557

Had to go into town this morning to get some things taken care of. Was asked if it would be possible to get some more shots of the freshly painted CRRX 602 in sun. So after checking in at office by the shop went over and got these 3 seen here.  All taken 08-04-2022 in Canon City Co.

Shot 1. CRRX/RGX 601, the first unit repainted after purchase of these units and only one to wear this scheme.

Shot 2.  The caboose that came with the 3 units. To be painted a black with orange trim, like the 601. And from what I have been told, to be placed down by station in town, alongside the ex Great Western Wood Side there now. To be used as a dining area.

Shot 3. Left hand side long hood shot of the 602 in it's Santa Express Scheme.  Sure is "loud".

Thanks for taking a gander at these. Be well, Ben

Yeah, Tom, He sure would be. That thing will light up any dark sky. No excuse for not seeing this one coming at ya. Be well, Ben

The nose shot looks disgustingly close to Thomas the tank engine .

Overhead safety stripes could go away, but otherwise I like the looks of that SD40-3.

Ex Escalante Western 1969. Not sure what ex ATSF Caboose it was tho. Enclosed is a shot I took of it in Pueblo back last year when being delivered, June 13 2021. Really can't find any info on this caboose. Not mny shots around either. Ben

Ben, according to Dennis Stern on Flickr, waycar "started out as ATSF 999176 in 8-69 in their Ce1 class and has been serviced in Kansas City and Albuqueque prior
to the end of the stencils."
