No 19. This image appears in the pacificelectric.org website and is captioned to have been taken in 1947
by Bob McVay and is in the Ralph Cantos collection. A check of the yellow pages from the era locates the
Eagle Broom Works at 829 E Fourth Pl. Today the 'Place' has been changed to 'Street' and the building we
see is now a parking garage. In the photo, the car is moving westward and is about 700 feet west of the
Fourth St bridge over the L.A. River.  At one time, the 'F' (for Fourth) Line was one of LARy's longer routes, running
between the Evergreen Cemetery in the Boyle Heights area of East L.A., through downtown and as far south as
116th & Vermont, a distance of 13+ miles.

I wish the water bumpers were still around today.

I think they would look better on the buses we have now.

#21, the Key System shot, had to be immediately after abandonment of the trains (April 20, 1958).  Some fresh asphalt, and maybe a group of railfan mourners?

Running late again today; hope to be on the advertised tomorrow.

Ritzville Action
Weather may be coller but the action is still hot.
Several BNSF EMD units offered some motive power variety.
Colorful MRL chip cars, and intermodal traffic brightened the day.

Historic Traction
19 - Great color scene from the 1940's; love the vintage autos
21 - Super scene with GM Old Look; appears to be a 35 foot coach
22 - Little short GM New Look is a real cutie
23 - Nice looking 40foot GM Old Look

Thanks for posting soo mant interesting photos' especially the busses.

#21 was part of an order to replace the bridge railway, and they were 40 footers.  2100 series if memory serves me.

Thanks Allen for your always interesting review. Had the railroad tied up for awhile during a fire in Lind, WA that was quite devestating to people's homes. Thanks norm1153 for your interesting comments..
