A yellow kind of Sunday
Author: oyw

The title tells the tale of my travels last Sunday morning (September 18). Everything I shot was UP or former UP, nothing momentous but I did get some interesting weather for a couple.

1) The clouds parted briefly just as this westbound auto train passed me at Cajon. Locomotives were 6499 and 4016.

2) From there, I followed the ZLBDV (Long Beach to Denver Z-train) led by UP 6831. I could see a chance for sunlight at MP58X and it held out just long enough for this shot.

3) The 6831 waited to be run around by a BNSF at Summit so I decided on another shot at MP49 in Hesperia.

4) Now that fall is almost here, I decided to take a run over to the Mojave Northern in Victorville. Waiting near MP 1.5, dual numbered former UP SD60 2125 (now Cemex 416) showed up right on cue at 10:15AM with 16 loads.

It was a nice break from the usual orange BNSF trains, thanks for looking.

Nice color, despite the clouds.  The CEMEX unit doesn't look as bad as I thought it might by now.
