WC Put to the Test Out West
Author: NickWolters

Fully decked out in the Wisconsin Central scheme, BUGX 1558 showed up at the Port of Stockton in summer 2020. Quickly readied for service, the little SW1500 made its first appearance on Stockton Public Belt Railway (Central California Traction Co.) trackage in August. Two years since its debut at the Port of Stockton, the locomotive has stuck around and intermittently steps in as a backup unit on an as needed basis. The unit was built for the Minnesota Transfer Railway, assigned road number 304 before assuming WC colors later on.

The pair of clips presented showcase BUGX 1558 in California providing a little boost in available horsepower far from home.
