Ritzville Action
Lots of coming and going in the cold weather; hopefully we will get a break soon.
Manifest traffic and intermodal traffic add variety, interest, and color.
Several foreign units made an appearance but BNSF units dominated.
Unit Of The Day is BNSF #3155

Historic Traction
19 - Most excellent trac tion scene featuring #1446; newest auto in photo is the 1956 Ford on the near right.
22 - MUNI #2465, in very nice surroundings is a Mack Model C-49-DT built in 1958.

Thanks for another outstanding action and traction photo posting.

ALLEN

Photo 21 shows brand new 1937 Ford busses lined up in front of what looks like Old City Hall at 1st Ave and Washington.  The building still exists and was/is the Maricopa County Courthouse.
Photo 20 - Route 4 was known as the Indian School Line. From the Downtown Loop, it ran north on 1st St. to Roosevelt where it turned right for two blocks to 3rd St., continuing north to Indian School Rd. Much of this area was occupied by the Old Phoenix Indian School.  It is now Steel Indian School Park. The line was double track from Roosevelt to Indian School Rd, so the photo could be anywhere along 3rd St.

Larry, are you sure the train in the first two photos was a manifest?  It seems odd they would put empty well cars ahead of loaded freight cars.  I'm guessing that might be a bare table train instead.  Always enjoy your photos, especially the traction stuff.  Thanks for posting.

Thanks "agent1552" for your interesting insight on the locations of the 4 line in Phoenix and the year of the buses and location, much appreciated. Nick, it was a manifest train looking a bit different with the first few cars being empty well cars.
