We had some of those new CP hoppers on the Gateway recently. They are almost still in numerical order!

No 20 shows LATL 3162 at the turn around loop at Pico Blvd and Rimpau in the west Los Angeles area.
The motorman has rolled the destination sign to Dozier & Rowan for the car's eastern turnaround loop
which was opened on Christmas Day, 1936 in anticipation of the arrival of the first PCC's in Los Angeles.
The loop we see here was opened on April 22, 1935.

No 22 is at PE's San Pedro station. Based on the information provided by Evan Werkema, including the trip brochure
as well as other photos of the October 28, 1956 excursion, this photo shows the five car special as it operated
on that date. The additional car, close to the rear of the train is apparently a following train, having pulled close
to the special in order to discharge its passengers who would otherwise have to cross through or around the excursion
equipment to gain access to the station.
