Back problem has cleared up so I returned to the keyboad.

Ritzville Action
The snow cover has returned but the BNSF action is really hot.
Those intermodal containers and trailers really help to brighten the day,
plus they keep traffic off the roads.
Definitely a lot of grain is moving on the main.
Unit Of The Day is BNSF #9048.

Historic Traction
21 - An excellent heavy interurban scene; nice cloud formations.
23 - A superb bustling downtown scene; #3048 is a GM Model T8H-5305 Blt 1969.

Thanks for posting more interesting Ritzville action and great historic traction.
Appreciate your work and time to compile your postings.

ALLEN

No 20 shows Los Angeles Transit Lines, Class P-3, PCC 3129 at the Georgia St car house.
The 40 P-3's were "all-electric", in that all braking, door and other mechanisms formerly operated
by air were replaced by electrically operated systems, including the brakes which used the traction
motors down to the final stop which was completed by mechanical drum brakes. Other features
were the amber tinted standee windows along the upper sides and a wider aisle; 34" vs 21" on the
older PCC's. The first of the P-3's were delivered on September 10, 1948 and one of the 40 cars, 3165,
was saved and today resides at Perris along with sisters 3001, 3072, 3084 and 3100. The remainder
of the P-3 cars were sold to Cairo, Egypt following final electric rail abandonment on March 31, 1963.

I believe (love that caveat?) No 21 was taken somewhere along Pacific Electric's right of way between
Dominguez Jct and Watts. North of Watts would show us a four-track r-o-w and simple trolley wire,
not catenary as seen here. The dash sign indicates the car is moving inbound toward Los Angeles.
"Metropolitan Coach Line" lettering indicates it is sometime after October, 1953 and before 1958 when
the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority logo began appearing on car sides.

Nice trains in the cold weather Larry. Here also is rainy and a bit cold what's different from our traditional Summer time. It's running almost everyday and the grass is becoming too high near the tracks. Soon the yard will become a jungle here.
