Western Railroad Discussion > Off Topic: Northern Pacific AirwaysDate: 03/08/23 19:06 Off Topic: Northern Pacific Airways Author: cchan006 Previous discussion about BNSF suing an airline, and hence I'm posting this in the Western board:
https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,5563907 I got couple of pictures of a Boeing 757-200 at Ontario Airport (SoCal, not Canada) so here they are: Date: 03/08/23 19:17 Re: Off Topic: Northern Pacific Airways Author: Typhoon Cool. Love the racoon mask.
Date: 03/08/23 19:19 Re: Off Topic: Northern Pacific Airways Author: ApproachCircuit The 757 is very popular with flight crews. It is very well behaved and is a favorite with many pilots.
The layout inside is comfortable or was! Sure beats flying on the 737 although the that plane i newer I think. The mid-tier seats are spacious and comfortable. Anybody around that flew with Freddie Laker on the Lockheed 1011? West Coast to Gatwick, U.K.? Date: 03/08/23 22:26 Re: Off Topic: Northern Pacific Airways Author: TheNavigator Never flew on Laker, but made a couple of trips LAX-PHL on TWA TriStars in the early ’80s.
GK Date: 03/08/23 22:27 Re: Off Topic: Northern Pacific Airways Author: coach One of the best flights I ever had was on a Northwest Orient Airlines flight using a 757. Very comfortable flight. Plane seemed to handle nicely.

Date: 03/09/23 07:28 Re: Off Topic: Northern Pacific Airways Author: MGRACER I flew Laker to London Gatwick back in 1980.They had DC 10s not L1011s.
Steve Date: 03/09/23 07:39 Re: Off Topic: Northern Pacific Airways Author: engineerinvirginia Rode a DC10 to Chicago and a 737 to Seattle...the return was a 737 again pn Alaska Airlines and a United 737 from Chicago to Norfolk...when younger we had a 747 to Germany and pretty sure we had that on return...But where we went out on United we returned on Lufthansa. I guess too as lousy as flying has gotten I won't be doing it anymore. Trains certainly and ships maybe.....Grand World Voyage on Holland America is expensive in the extreme but so worth doing.
