Some nice EMDs and more Muni. Bagdad-by-the-Bay was such a neat place in those days.

Thanks Mac, I hear you on SF in the 1950's, I'm glad I got to experience the City in the 1950's, 60's and working on the Muni in the 1970's. The last time I visited San Francisco in 2003,  I said I would never go back, it was ruined and I never have to this day. I'm sure it's worse today. Thanks 66 for your nice comments, much appreciated to you both!

Aha, the puzzle is coming into clearer focus! No 20 shows us LAMTA's 'S-Line' 8th & Western loop
as it existed following its September 1958 completion. The 1450 is posed on the original portion of
the 'S-Line' that extended only to the edge of Western Ave with the trolley wires for both the outbound
and inbound tracks clearly visible overhead. The car in the background has preceded the 1450 through
the loop and is seen crossing over the 'outboind', to the 'inbound'. From the presence of the sine-age and
raised bumps in the pavement, it appears the portion toward the photographer was not used for frequent
access to Western Ave especially since the main route of 8th St was to/from where we see the other H car.

Here's a link that shows the full extent of the so-called 'island' that lay within the 'Loop' as of February 2023:

I still find it strange to look at GATX reporting marks on a boxcar...

Thanks Charlie for your clearer vision classroom involving the S Line at 8th and Western. Lots of hard detective work on your part. Thanks Lance. I too found it a bit different to see all these blue boxcars with GATX. Also see grain cars with GATX. I always thought of GATX as coke cars. Much appreciated to you both.

#22.  Outbound on Geary Blvd about to turn onto 33rd Ave.  The gas station has been replaced by a four story apartment complex and additional buildings to its right have effectively blocked the western views from the windows of the brick building at 32nd Ave.

Thanks HT6 for your interesting info on #22 helping on the location of 33rd Ave. and building view history. Thanks Allen for your on time performance. Enjoyed your always intersting reviews, unit of the day and bus model history and year built. Thought you might like the Grinstein. Much appreciated to you both!
