Does anyone know when the grain shuttles will start operating in Sterling KS? I believe these trains are to be provided by BNSF. Would the interchange of these loaded unit trains be made in Hutchinson?

I recall the unit shuttles originated just east of Great Bend at a new (2015), huge elevator unless there are new ones? Of course basically all K&O trains were shuttles after gathering grain from many smaller elevators and then were interchanged to either the BNSF or UP in Wichita. One interesing fact was that grain hoppers had to be separated into BN and UP solid trains often at Yaggy yard west of Hutch before delivering to Wichita connections.

I was up there about a month ago. Lots of ballast in piles and a loop track was roughly graded. Not near being ready for service.
