Colorado's Recent Weather (Slightly OT)
Author: mojaveflyer

Colorado has recently had rain and thunderstorms that started Tuesday night. As I got off work Tuesday night I decided to head out to try some storm photography. As of this morning (Thursday), my rain gauge is showing 2 1/4" since Tuesday night. I understand the Moffat Line west of Denver is closed due to a rock slide in Frasier Canyon.

Photo #1- Looking north towards Cheyenne. This storm was moving to the northeast and shortly after I shot this National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning on it.

Photos #2  & 3- I headed east to where I was seeing more lightning in Weld County. I played with my Lightning Trigger on my Canon R body with a wide angle lens and got a few decent shots of the electrical show east of Keenesburg. I thought the results were fairly good using the combination of the new camera and lightning trigger....

Looking forward to more weather spotting this summer! Thanks for looking....

Great lightning shots! I haven't had much luck at catching lightning with the camera.

Spring on the high plains, it tends to be noisy!

Congratulations on your latest storm coverage with Weld County lightning.  The welcomed rain continued into Friday morning, 12 May.

B&H Photo has lightening triggers. Slips right into the hot shoe.
