It has been a hot sunny day in Ritzville, WA with some smoke haze on the BNSF Lakeside Sub. The high-low is 93-61 with cooling on the way. Traffic is at 21 trains since midnight. Here are some trains from from May 7-8.

5/7/2023

1. WB 957am coal train with BNSF 7487-7055-6923 on the point with DPU. 
2. DPU BNSF 5926 on same train.
3. WB 1251pm intermodal train with BNSF 6912-7779 on the pull with DPU's.

6. WB 1247pm "Z" train with BNSF 3903-3873-8014 and Grinstein 9802 on the point with no DPU.

Playing Catch-Up after Attending Step-Grandson's Wedding

Some warm and dry late spring weather makes for good raiklfanning.
A lot of traffic variety.  Always like to see the colorful intermodal trains.
That old Milwaukee Road covered hopper was a super nice catch.
Unit Of The Day is BNSF #9802

Only one EMD on this report.The one  thing better about the UP trains is you have a way better chance of an EMD in the consist.Bill Webb

Larry…what’s the MOW contraption in pic #4? Did you see them using it at all?

And…what’s it say on the shield on the B end of the MILW hopper?

Tex, I believe that is a ditch digger of some sort, it's been parked here for awhile. Can't read anything on the placard on the Milw Road hopper.

Maybe a mower?  I think I maybe see three blades in what could be a shroud.  Boom would let it reach out a ways.  I've seen similar things used along highways.
