Western Railroad Discussion > Sunday in Sandpoint, IdahoDate: 06/05/23 21:31 Sunday in Sandpoint, Idaho Author: redberan4449 This past Sunday, I saw two BNSF eastbound trains waiting to cross the Sandpoint Bay Railroad Bridge. Soon after I set up my drone, two other BNSF hotshots (many Amazon containers) passed eastbound over the bridge. Followed soon by a westbound; seemed like rush hour. A second bridge and track has been added; however, heavy maintenance work needs to be completed before the area bottleneck is resolved. The video is an overhead view of the approach from the South. The final photo is the adjacent and very busy US-95 highway bridge.

Date: 06/06/23 14:09 Re: Sunday in Sandpoint, Idaho Author: bmarti7 On the Northern Transcon there are two ways to differentiate a Z from a Q: as mentioned already-Q's are 1 hpt and Z's are 2.5 hpt. Z's always have some TOFC while Q's rarely have any TOFC.
