Golden State Route still shut down
Author: dcfbalcoS1

The Golden State Route ( Union Pacific ) through Kansas is still shut down due to flooding and two wash outs between Guymon and Goodwell Oklahoma. Heard one was 5 feet deep and the other was 12 feet long. Assume they are using side dumps to fill in with large rock and ??? and then ballast. Assuming they have installed culverts at the locations but have not seen it as the hiway was closed for a time. West trains are tied down at Liberal, Ks, Tyrone and Optima Oklahoma that I know of. No information on detours.
The area had recieved 5 to 8 inches of rain two days ago.

It sounds like they found those washouts the easy way.
Finding them with a set of locomotives at track speed is a lot worse.
