Forty Friday
Author: Roadmaster

A week ago, on the morning of Friday, June 14th, a very short BNSF 191 Local was tied down on the west side of Sealy, TX.  The trackage here is a remnant of the Santa Fe's Matagorda District, and it currently has a transload facility at the end of line west of this location, just north of US 90.  The tank car was either pulled from, or will be taken to, that transload faciliity.  The triangular frame at the left side of the photo is the remains of the junction sign visible in photo #1 of gcm's post: https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.ph?11,5570304,5570304#msg-5570304.  The junction announced by the sign was that of the Matagorda District with what is now BNSF's Galveston Subdivision.

1671 has a Prime airhorn, I'm guessing a PM 990.  I have not had an opportunity to hear it.

Great shot on the Cane Belt remnants.
Whenever I go to Sealy I try and catch something on this line but not yet.
Glad you caught some activity.
