Western Railroad Discussion > BNSF Seattle Sub Freights at Day Island, WADate: 11/12/24 10:22 BNSF Seattle Sub Freights at Day Island, WA Author: zchcsse This clip from late July, 2024 features a pair of BNSF freights on their Seattle Subdivision passing by Day Island. Day Island is located in the greater Tacoma area and is between Steilacoom/Chambers Bay to the south, and Titlow to the north on the railroad. It's a small "island" with a bunch of houses on it that juts into Puget Sound. A bridge spans the tracks and a bit of water to access the island, and offers the views seen in this clip.
First-up is a northbound BNSF manifest. The entire train is shown. Second-up is a southbound BNSF vehicle train. Some of the train is cut out for time, but it was all autoracks.
