Track #1 Date: 04/12/25 13:24 Re: Kingman, AZ - a different perspective ov downtown Author: coach I wonder why the 2nd main didn't just follow the 1st? Adding that big curve seems like a lot of work, vs. going parallel to Main 1.

TIOGA PASS Norman Orfall Helendale, CA TIOGA PASS, a private railcar Date: 04/12/25 13:55 Re: Kingman, AZ - a different perspective ov downtown Author: groundrelay Construction of second mainline (main #2) in the 1920's through Kingman Canyon west of town and past the depot into the curve allowed a decreased grade of the original mainline (1) as originally built. Even today Main #2 is the designated and
prefered routing for eastbound trains even though both mains cane be used in either direction. Date: 04/12/25 21:26 Re: Kingman, AZ - a different perspective ov downtown Author: oyw Good thinking "outside the box!"
