UP Original ROW into Ogden
Author: TrainChaser

Hey all,

I have a question for those familiar with the trackage and history around Ogden railroading…Coming out of the Weber Canyon, UP’s double main separated by a 1,000 ft or so going through Uintah before coming back together alongside the Weber River into Ogden. My question is which is the original ROW, if either, for the transcontinental line? Also can anyone point me to a source that I can find out a little more about specifics on the history of this section of track between Ogden and Evanston? Thanks for any help.

Dunno if the south track is 100% original, but the north one is the 1.14% grade built ... after 1910? Traditional UP charts give the construction dates -- I'll find them later today.
