Date: 07/01/25 11:19 Re: Needles-Goff triple track Author: zchcsse Yes it is.
Date: 07/01/25 11:22 Re: Needles-Goff triple track Author: GN1969 Is there another triple track project underway to the west of Goff?
Date: 07/01/25 11:24 Re: Needles-Goff triple track Author: zchcsse Yes there is, between Bagdad and Ash Hill. I know they paused that one for awhile, and I don't know if they've re-started it again. Either way, it's not close to being completed.

Date: 07/01/25 15:29 Re: Needles-Goff triple track Author: hotrail Is the purpose of the Needles-Goffs triple track:
a) to allow faster/priority traffic to get around heavier/slower trains on the big westbound grade; b) to create an ability to optimize which eastbound they bring into the crew change at Needles first; c) something else (what?) d) some combination of the above. A few months back BNSF was moving lots of fill dirt with two trainsets (the kind that can unload itself with a boom conveytor belt) from the 3M Spur near Corona, CA to the Ash Hill-Siberia for this project. I haven't seen then lately however. From several photos posted it appears that much if not all the earthwork has been finished but I haven't seen any track laid however. Its a little too hot for a visit to the Mojave right now, but I hope to head out that way once the weather cools a little (below 110 would be nice). —Mac Date: 07/01/25 22:10 Re: Needles-Goff triple track Author: slug96 They've restarted it. New signal mast and switch panels beinf stored on the hill, and new bridges have been installed for the 3rd main.

Both of these were taken at Klondike.
