This is new information thus a new thread. Berkshire has now made an announcement regarding the speculation in the thread you referenced.

Why can't your new infomation just update the earlier thread on the subject? Makes it easier for the rest of us.

I'm not sure how adding facts to a bunch of speculation makes it "easier for you" to find information than starting a new thread. But OK.

How many pages back is the earlier thread?  I appreciate a new thread for new info.

If your settings are adjusted properly, it would be at the top if a new post were added.

Wall St. "elites" love merger talks and bidding wars. That along with "corporate raiders" were the thing a generation or two ago.

Most people forget that Berkshire Hathaway got rid of their Union Pacific shares to avoid "conflict of interest" when they bought BNSF. That removed the incentive for BRK to "play" the merger talk to make money off of Wall St. idiots.

I've deliberately not wasted time in analyzing the proposed UP/NS merger, because other big money in Wall St. with "no conflict of interest" have a lot to gain with the merger game. I wonder if they are disappointed that BRK didn't take the bait. I am disappointed, because it's fun watching people lose their minds.

Anyway, I have no problems with your starting a new thread.
