Western Railroad Discussion > UP Evanston Subdivision (27-Oct-2025)Date: 10/28/25 13:41 UP Evanston Subdivision (27-Oct-2025) Author: johnusnsd In Salt Lake City for business and got out briefly yesterday to Echo Canyon and up the hill towards Evanston - and it was storming upon my arrival (but the weather eventually cleared out).
Unfortunately I was met with a huge MOW effort in Echo Canyon which pretty much grinded traffic to a halt. In a 3 hour period midday only caught 2 WBs and 0 EBs. And, the telephone poles in Echo Canyon are infuriating - as they block pretty much any shot from the northside of the tracks and southside is pretty much inaccessible. 1-2. Vestas trainset heading WB at Echo Canyon. 3. UP 6603 - WB - Wahsatch - 27-Oct-2025 Date: 10/28/25 13:43 Re: UP Evanston Subdivision (27-Oct-2025) Author: johnusnsd 4-5. Chased UP 6603 - WB from Castle Rock Rd to Echo Canyon
6. UP 6603 - WB - Echo Canyon - at the same spot as the Vestas trainset from a few hours earlier (not raining in this image). I've never seen anything like this. Thank you. upkpfan

They are unloaded at the Mojave airport. Dennis Posted from iPhone Date: 10/28/25 19:40 Re: UP Evanston Subdivision (27-Oct-2025) Author: atsf121 Nice work, especially catching the unique cargo.
