Western Railroad Discussion > Overtake at 65 mph - whew, that took some time!

Highway 60 alongside the Clovis Sub in NM is only marked at 60 mph - so you can safely run 65 and not worry too much about flashing red and blue lights.  But those EB LATs running over the Clovis Sub also move along pretty good - in this case, it took a full 14 minutes to overtake the BNSF train in the video.  I had to speed up the video to capture the entire train in 6 minutes, but I did slow it back to normal speed when a WB LAT made a cameo appearance - at least, the head end and DPUs of both trains!  

I'm impressed with the Iphone stabilization algo - these roads weren't all that smooth, but most of the video wouldn't lead you to believe that.  A nice benefit for hanging your phone out the window for 14 minutes...and boy, were my arms tired by the time we caught the headend!  Thanks for looking.

Ms. Bedloe was at the wheel.  She had videoed some trains during an earlier portion of the trip, and she'd had enough - didn't like holding the camera steady for 3 mins, let alone 14! 

Very enjoyable.
