CEFX locomotives on way to Africa

I received these pics from a friend that got them on facebook. A bunch of CEFX units on way to Africa. I imagine they are dash-9 and were loaded  somewhere in the west coast.

That is very interesting to see how that ship can adjust the "shelves" to address the needs of the load.   Hopefully someone can share the rest of the story regarding where specifically they are going in Africa and what they will be used for.

Great photos! I wonder what kind of prep work took place before loading. Drained all fluids like diesel & oil just in case the locos take swim lessons?

CP leased a bunch of CEFX AC4400's in the early 2000's for use in the Cam-Am corridor with UP. Southbound mixed train at Chilco, ID on the UP's ex-Spokane International Rwy. October 24th, 2003.
